Being in the design profession, I find it empowering at the potential improvement we can achieve in people&#039;s health and well-being simply through the implementation of our natural environments in our built ones. While most Biophilic Design studies to date have focused on Healthcare and Workplace environments, I feel the benefits apply to all interior environments. The continued research in this field is imperative if we expect continued evolution and progression of human well-being.  Americans spend an average of 90% of their time indoors. The focus on the restorative possibilities of our built environments needs to be the driver for the future of design. With this restoration, we will be reminded of our interconnection to all living things, and therefore realize we, as humans, are not superior removed beings, but are in fact a mere piece of the larger whole.</description>
